Business ContextThis program is designed to help
managers understand and leverage the skills and abilities of the
resources they manage. Business urgency typically leads managers
to rely on a few experienced workers to complete tasks rather than
developing less experienced employees to do the job. This can
result in underutilizing and not developing newer employees and
burning out experienced employees.
In order to produce the highest work unit and team performance,
managers must have a comprehensive understanding of the skills and
abilities that are required to do the tasks, how those skills and
abilities compare with what is required to achieve business
performance goals, and have a plan to leverage the skills of their
employees and develop the collective talents of the team.
The workshop helps managers develop an understanding of how to
leverage resource to achieve business requirements, apply a
structured approach to resource assessment, familiarize managers
with tools for effective manager to subordinate and peer to peer
development activities, and develop an action plan for
understanding and leveraging their work unit resources.
Target Audience
Target participants include managers in an organization committed
to pursuing effective resource utilization.
